REGULAR MEETING OF THE ANIMAL ADVISORY COMMISSION MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026, AT 6:00 P.M. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Animal Advisory Commission Regular meeting on August 10, 2026. STAFF BRIEFINGS 2. Staff briefing regarding monthly reports and dog breed labeling. Presentation by Monica Dangler, Director, Austin Animal Services and Jason Garza, Assistant Director, Austin Animal Services. DICUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 3. 4. Approve the creation of a working group exploring compliance with the Texas Health and Safety Chapter 8-23. Approve the creation of a working group to study the impact of and write recommendations to Council regarding Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) combo testing. Commissioners in Attendance: Whitney Holt, Chair, D5 Beatriz Dulzaides, D2 Erin Ferguson, D8 David Loignon, D10 Erin Van Landingham, D1 Commissioners in Attendance Remotely: Nancy Nemer, Travis County PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL Robyn Katz – No Kill Concerns DISCUSSION ITEMS 1. Discussion of definition of no kill thresholds. Discussion was taken second. 1 DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 2. Approve an Annual Schedule for the No Kill Committee. This item was taken first. The motion to approve an annual meeting schedule for the Animal Advisory Commission No Kill Subcommittee to occur every other month was approved on Commissioner Dulzaides’ motion, Commissioner Loignon’s second on a 6-0 vote. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS The meeting of the Animal Advisory Commission No Kill Subcommittee was adjourned on Commissioner Loignon’s motion, Commissioner Dulzaides’ second without objection at 5:18PM. 2
