Additional Backup Information: The contract will provide continued maintenance and support to manage Austin Energy’s Statistical Analysis System (SAS) software platform. The SAS data analytics platform and server are used for complex business intelligence analysis that supports Austin Energy operations and strategic objectives, including transforming complex data sets for analysis of consumer consumption projections and making consumption and billing data available to customers. The SAS solution provides an end-to-end analytical platform that allows Austin Energy to collaborate, manage and report on the analysis of large data sets in real-time, and automate workflows. The Texas Department of Information Resources is a cooperative purchasing association recognized under Texas procurement statutes. Cooperative associations, themselves or using a lead government, competitively solicit and award contracts that are eligible for use by other qualified state and local governments. Due to their substantial volumes, larger than any one government could achieve independently, cooperative contracts routinely include superior terms, conditions, and pricing. Use of cooperative contracts also results in lower Item 5 administrative costs and time savings. Without this contract, Austin Energy will be unable to maintain the existing data transfers, automation, reports, and support processes needed to provide Austin Energy with critical operational data.
