REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24, 2026, AT 6:30 P.M. PERMITTING AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER, ROOM 1405 6310 WILHELMINA DELCO DRIVE AUSTIN, TEXAS Some members of the Building and Standards Commission may be participating by videoconference. The meeting may be viewed online at: http://www.austintexas.gov/page/watch-atxn-live Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION MINUTES REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY, June 24, 2026 The Building and Standards Commission convened in a Regular meeting on June 24, 2026, at the City of Austin Permitting and Development Center (PDC), 1610 Wilhelmina Delco Drive, Room 1405, in Austin, Texas. Chair Michael Francis called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. Commissioners in Attendance: Chair Michael Francis, Vice Chair Jeffrey Musgrove; and Commissioners: Mia Ibarra, Myra Martinez, Manesh Nair and Raisch Tomlanovich, Ex Officio Commissioner Fire Marshal Carrie Stewart Commissioners in Attendance Remotely: Harrison Brown. PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL Kyle Chapman, Arthur Valencia, and Stephanie Serrano spoke during public communication to provide an update on 6700 Branchwood Drive. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Building and Standards Commission Regular Meeting on May 27, 2026. The minutes from the meeting of May 27, 2026 were approved on Vice Chair Musgrove’s motion, Commissioner Ibarra’s second, with no objections. Commissioners Garza and Gilker were absent. PUBLIC HEARINGS 2. Conduct a public hearing and consider case number CL 2026-067812; Property address: 4302 Acropolis Court. Vice Chair Musgrove moved to close the public hearing, Commissioner Ibarra’s second, with no objections. Vice Chair Musgrove moved to adopt City staff’s proposed findings of fact, conclusions of law and City staff’s recommended order for repair within 45 days, Commissioner Tomlanovich’s second. The Commission voted 7-0 in favor of the motion as adopted. Commissioners Garza and Gilker were absent. 1 3. Conduct a public hearing and consider case numbers CL 2025-162262; Property address: 6803 Wentworth Drive. Vice Chair Musgrove moved to close the public hearing, Commissioner Martinez’s second, with no objections. Commissioner Ibarra moved to adopt City staff’s proposed findings of fact, conclusions of law and amend City staff’s recommended order for repair of the commercial multi-family structure from 45 days to 90 days, with a civil penalty of $1,000 per week beginning on the 91st day from the date the order is mailed and continuing until compliance is achieved, Commissioner Tomlanovich’s second. Commissioner Tomlanovich offered a friendly amendment to change compliance timeframe from 90 days to 180 days, Commissioner Nair’s second. The friendly amendment was accepted by Commissioner Ibarra. The Commission voted 7-0 in favor of the friendly amendment. The Commission voted 7-0 in favor of the motion as amended. Commissioners Garza and Gilker were absent. 4.
