Requested Contract Term, Authorization, and Current Budget Length of contract and total authorization: Contract has an initial term of 36 months with two, 12‐month renewal options for a total of five years and a contract not to exceed amount of $2,940,000. (Authorized Departments: Public Works, Watershed and Protection, and Austin Resource Recovery). ARR current fiscal year budget: Funding in the amount of $124,800 is available in the Fiscal Year 2021‐2022 Operating Budget of Austin Resource Recovery. Total funding amount available for various City departments in the Fiscal Year 2021‐2022 Operating Budget is $489,276. Funding for the remaining contract term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets. 2. Notes/Other The purpose of this contract is to provide trucking services for the City of Austin, which comprise hauling and disposal of construction and excess materials for the City of Austin, Street & Bridge Division of Public Works; Watershed Protection Departments; and Austin Resource Recovery. The City requires trucking services to supplement the existing fleet of trucks. The services will be utilized on various rehabilitation and reconstruction projects to haul construction materials (e.g., hot mix asphalt concrete, asphalt millings, rock, excess materials produced) within the limits of the City, and nearby areas. This contract will assist ARR with hauling excess materials during heavy seasons as needed and promote the City of Austin’s Zero Waste goals. Without this support, ARR may experience delays in collection of materials. The drivers shall be licensed in accordance with State of Texas requirements. The Contractor shall comply with all Federal requirements for drug and alcohol testing for the operation of commercial vehicles. The trucks shall be licensed in accordance with all Federal and state requirements. The vehicles shall be operated in accordance with all state of Texas requirements for the operation of commercial vehicles. The current contract expires October 20, 2021. This contract will allow City departments to continue utilizing trucking and hauling services. The requested authorization amount was determined using departmental estimates based on historical spend and future usage.
