(Note: This solicitation was reviewed for subcontracting opportunities in accordance with City Code Chapter 2-9C Minority Owned and Women Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program. Client Department(s) Austin Resource Recovery. Fiscal Note Funding in the amount of $415,000 is available in the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Operating Budget of Austin Resource Recovery. Funding for the remaining contract term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets. Purchasing Language: The Purchasing Office issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) 1500 SLW1036 for these services. The solicitation issued on December 9, 2019 and it closed on February 20, 2020. The recommended contractor submitted the only responsive offer. Additional Backup Information: The contract will provide all dumpsters/containers, staff, labor, vehicles, and equipment for trash, recycling, and composting collection services in the alleys of the Downtown Central Business District, per the requirements from City Council under Ordinance No. 20051020-063. In addition to collection services, the contractor will provide services for daily cleanup and maintenance in all the alleys in the service area. The contractor will also cover additional collection needs for special events held in the Downtown Central Business District. The current contract expires on September 3, 2020. The requested authorization amount was determined using a departmental estimate based on historical spend and future usage. The recommended contractor is the current provider for these services.
