Amount and Source of Funding Funding in the amount of $137,500 is available in the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Operating Budget of Austin Water. Funding for the remaining contract terms is contingent upon available funding in future budgets. the The Purchasing Office issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2200 PAT1040 for these goods. The solicitation issued on November 23, 2020 and it closed on January 7, 2021. Of the four offers received, the recommended lowest responsive offers. This solicitation was reviewed for subcontracting opportunities in accordance with City Code Chapter 2-9D Minority Owned and Women Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program. For the goods required for this solicitation, there were no subcontracting opportunities; therefore, no subcontracting goals were established. Purchasing Language: Prior Council Action: Boards and Commission Action: MBE/WBE: These contracts will provide for the supply of brass pipe and brass coupling fittings utilized by the City for installation and repair services. The contracts will enable service crews to connect new customer accounts and repair existing customer water line breaks. Brass fittings are designed to withstand high temperatures and are the best fitting material for distributing water and providing exceptional conductivity to improve the efficiency of the distribution system. The current contracts for these goods expire on April 10, 2021 and August 3, 2021. One of the recommended contractors is the current provider for these goods. Authorization amounts are based on historical spending and forecasted needs. Failure to have these fittings on hand and immediately available for repairs will have a negative impact on operations and service to the public.
