This solicitation was reviewed for subcontracting opportunities in accordance with City Code Chapter 2-9C Minority Owned and Women Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program. For the services required for this solicitation, there were no subcontracting opportunities; therefore, no subcontracting goals were established. Purchasing Language: Prior Council Action: Boards and Commission Action: MBE/WBE: The contract will provide services to remove accumulated scale from the solids clarifier mechanisms at Ullrich and Handcox Water Treatment Plants. These water treatment plants employ a lime softening process to provide drinking water for the City. After years of operation, a layer of scale forms over all submerged surfaces of the clarifiers and diminishes clarifier efficiency. If the City is unable to secure a contract, the clarifiers will not be operating as required and the risk of equipment failure increases.
