Auto Aid occurs multiple times per day and greatly contributes to decreased response times for Austin and Travis County. Recent Success: On October 6, Brush Truck 37 was dispatched to Pedernales Fire Department’s territory to assist with a brush fire near SH 71. Over 15 units were dispatched from Austin, Lake Travis, Oak Hill, and CE-Bar Fire Departments. Austin Fire is participating in regional multi- company high-rise training drills through November, alongside Oak Hill, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Manchaca, and Westlake. 4 Overdose Response FY25 Q4 Since 2021, all AFD personnel are trained on Naloxone administration and each unit carries the medication. When asked, this person said he started the fire. The area had a reported problem with someone setting fires, so APD and Arson were requested. Austin hosted 450 thousand guests over two weekends at Austin City Limits festival and an additional 400 thousand the following weekend at F1. Due to meticulous planning and preparation, the only fire emergency was one food truck fire that was quickly mitigated with no injuries. . 8 2025 US Grand Prix Formula One Carbon Dioxide Release Incident Odor call from Main Grandstand suite (4th floor), Found hazardous low oxygen environment with a half-frosted CO2 bottle by a walk-in cooler. Shut the bottle to stop leakage. Confirmed no other hazard outside this area. Canceled evacuation. Worked with site staff to vent area back to safe conditions. JHAT brought knowledge and equipment that quickly identified and resolved the problem. Unified Command allowed quick response and good incident information exchange. 9 The Compliance Engine The Compliance Engine (TCE) database tracks compliance and non-compliance for all fire protection systems in commercial properties across the City of Austin. This allows the Austin Fire to track annual fire systems reports, deficiencies and repair reports and receive immediate notification of system impairments. Pass the Torch (civilian program) • Interest has grown with 132 applicants • 74 signed up for interviews on September 21. • We selected a class of 52 who are training on weekends and will graduate November 15th. 771 candidates at the written exam on October 25, 2025. .
