OV ERA LL DA TA T R END S Call volume has decreased by roughly 4% in a comparison of 4th quarter FY 2019 to FY 2020. This can be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic: • Cancellation of large scale events • • Limited capacity for shopping and dining Teleworking reduced traffic 4 Emergency Response Time (hours: minutes: seconds) FY2019 and FY2020 – Q4 Comparison FY 2019 FY 2020 00:10:15 00:09:40 00:08:20 00:09:08 00:11:10 00:11:32 00:09:39 00:10:03 00:10:18 00:10:42 00:09:14 00:10:12 00:10:11 00:10:02 00:09:08 00:10:09 00:10:18 00:10:55 00:09:44 00:10:16 District 10 District 9 District 8 District 7 District 6 District 5 District 4 District 3 District 2 District 1 00:00:00 00:01:26 00:02:53 00:04:19 00:05:46 00:07:12 00:08:38 00:10:05 00:11:31 00:12:58 5 Emergency Incidents are Code 3 responses, to time when frontline unit arrives on scene. While call volume has decreased, response times have increased by roughly 20-30 seconds. This can be attributed to: • Changes in medical response protocol when caller is identified as potential exposure to COVID-19/flu-like symptoms • Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) station not responding to medical calls to reduce potential exposure of specially trained firefighters RES P O NS E TIME D A TA T RENDS 6 R E Q U E S T F O R S E R V I C E F Y 2 0 1 9 a n d F Y 2 0 2 0 – Q 4 C O M P A R I S O N Fire Medical Hazmat Other Fire Medical Hazmat Other Rescue 1,188, 6% Rescue 1,193, 5% 5,922, 26% 529, 2% 155, 1% 14,912, 66% 4,678, 23% 472, 2% 155, 1% 13,967, 68% 2019 2020 7 Requests for service are all calls, regardless of priority.
