JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE (JIC) SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MINUTES July 20th, 2022 SPECICAL CALLED MEETING of the JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE (JIC) WEDNESDAY, JULY 20, 2022 3:00 P.M. City of Austin Permitting and Development Center, Room 1215 6310 Wilhelmina Delco Dr., Austin, Texas 78752 MEETING MINUTES This meeting is being held in a hybrid format, and some members of the Commission may be participating by videoconference. Public comment will be allowed in-person or via telephone. Remote speakers must register in advance (July 19th by 12pm-Noon). All public comments will occur at the beginning of the meeting and public speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. To speak or attend remotely, residents must contact the Equity Office’s Commission/Neighborhood Liaison, Jeremy Garza, no later than 12pm-noon on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022. PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL The first ten speakers signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will each be allowed a three-minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the COMMISSION’S REGULAR MEETING on June 22, 2022. a. Commissioner Cobalis moves to approve. Seconded by Commissioner Griffith. Approval of the JIC June 2022 meeting minutes passed unanimously. STAFF BRIEFINGS 2. Staff Presentation on the City Manager’s Proposed Budget for FY 2022-23 by the Budget Office – w/ Kerri Lang, Katie Stewart, & Erik Nelson.  July 20th, 2022 JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE (JIC) SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MINUTES DISCUSSION ITEMS 3. Discussion of FY22-23 Budget Process, Recommendations and Endorsements DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 4. Discussion and possible action on a resolution endorsing the recommendation and letter of support from the African American Resource Advisory Commission on the Colony Park Sustainable Community Initiative (CPSCI) Project. a. Motion to endorse the AARAC recommendation and letter of support by Commissioner Greg Smith. Commissioner Robin Orlowski seconded to ask the committee to sign off on the chair’s letter that the Colony Park Project be prioritized. Resolution endorsement passes unanimously. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS 5. Call for items from Committee members: a. There is a quorum for next week’s meeting. b. Planning for future quality of life studies . The meeting is adjourned at: 4:22 pm ADJOURNMENT 6. The minutes were approved at the 08/24/2022 meeting on Commissioner Smith’s motion, Commissioner Orlowski's second, on a unanimous vote. -- The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
