HISTORIC LANDMARK COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, April 2nd, 2025 – 6:00 PM City Hall – Council Chambers 301 W. 2nd Street Austin, TX 78701 Some members of the Commission may be participating by videoconference. The meeting may be viewed online at: http://www.austintexas.gov/page/watch-atxn-live. Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. If designation is not pursued, encourage rehabilitation and adaptive reuse, then relocation over demolition, but release the permit upon completion of a City of Austin Documentation Package. Presentation and discussion on proposed amendments to the University Neighborhood Overlay (UNO), which includes height allowances, uses, affordability requirements, district boundaries, parking standards, and design criteria. MOTION: Vote to nominate Commissioner Larosche to the Downtown Commission on a motion by Commissioner Alvarez. Commissioner Acton seconded the motion. Vote: 7-0. The motion passed. 18. Conduct officer elections for 2025. MOTION: Postpone the 2025 officer elections to May 7, 2025 on a motion by Commissioner Alvarez. Commissioner Eppright seconded the motion. Vote: 7-0. The motion passed. 19. Approve budget recommendation for FY 2025-26. MOTION: Approve the FY 2025-26 budget recommendation with edits on a motion by Commissioner Heimsath. Commissioner Eppright seconded the motion. Vote: 7-0. The motion passed. 20. Vote to nominate members to the Grants Committee, Operations Committee, and Preservation Plan Committee. MOTION: Postpone the nominations of Committee members to May 7, 2025 on a motion by Commissioner Koch. Commissioner Alvarez seconded the motion. Vote: 7-0. The motion passed. 7 Determinations of Eligibility for Partial Ad Valorem Tax Relief 21. Consider the 2025 applications for partial ad valorem tax exemptions for historic properties and vote on recommending them for approval or disapproval. MOTION: Approve the recommendation for partial ad valorem tax relief per passage of the consent agenda on a motion by Commissioner Koch. Commissioner McWhorter seconded the motion. Vote: 7-0.
