HISTORIC LANDMARK COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, April 3rd, 2024 – 6:00 PM City Hall – Council Chambers 301 W. 2nd Street Austin, TX 78701 Some members of the Commission may be participating by videoconference. The meeting may be viewed online at: http://www.austintexas.gov/page/watch-atxn-live. Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. Request that the applicant investigate replacement with like-for-like architectural shingles, or a metal-shingle roof, rather than traditional metal roofing; alternately, request that the applicant provide historic photos of original roofing to substantiate the request for metal roofing. 9. PR-2024-020630 – 5304 Western Hills Dr. Council District 10 Proposal: Partial demolition. Applicant: Clean Tag Permits City Staff: Kalan Contreras, Historic Preservation Office, 512-974-2727 Staff Recommendation: Approve the application, encouraging the applicants to limit modifications to the front windows and reduce the profile of the added bay. The proposed 5 changes do not appear to preclude the building’s future eligibility as a historic landmark, given that most replacements appear like-for-like. 23. PR-2024-021401 – 3405 Willow Springs Rd. Council District 3 Proposal: Relocation. Applicant: Ricca Keepers City Staff: Kalan Contreras, Historic Preservation Office, 512-974-2727 Staff Recommendation: Release the relocation permit upon completion of a City of Austin Documentation Package. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS Commission Items 24. Vote to approve members of the Preservation Plan Working Group and Preservation Plan Committee to speak on behalf of the Commission in presentations to boards, commissions, and community groups about the Preservation Plan. 25.
