Discussion of updates to boards and commissions Debrief from November and December working group meetings: Tangible heritage and intangible cultural heritage Updates on focus groups Feedback on draft recommendations for intangible heritage Feedback on draft brief for January 13 working group meeting Preparation for upcoming working group meetings: What questions should we be sure to research? CITIZEN COMMUNICATION: GENERAL No citizen communication. APPROVAL OF MINUTES October 6, 2021 MOTION: Approve the minutes by Heimsath, Myers seconds. Vote: 3-0. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION A. Discussion of working group meeting/topic schedule  The committee was supportive of the revised schedule  Mention general themes (e.g., affordability, property owner rights) under the heading of related meetings B. Debrief from October 14 working group meeting B.1. Vision statement for plan Historic preservation in Austin actively engages communities in protecting and sharing important places and stories. Preservation uses the past to create a shared sense of belonging and to shape an equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and economically vital future for all. o The committee felt that the vision statement was elegant and powerful. o Committee members particularly commented on the inclusion and importance of a shared sense of belonging. B.2. Heritage in Austin 1 C. D. E. F. Feedback on draft recommendations Commissioners provided feedback on draft recommendations. Focus group selection  Legacy businesses, cultural and heritage organizations, neighborhood associations  26 applications received—broad spread within the three areas  Staff will email recommended lists for committee feedback Update on Technical Advisory Group  Member list  1st meeting yesterday Preparation for upcoming working group meetings F.1. November 18, 2021—brief will be sent for review Monday, Nov. 8 F.2. December 9, 2021—Proposed focus: Intangible heritage F.3. January 13, 2022—Proposed focus: Incentives ADJOURNMENT 12:57 P.M.
