Hispanic/Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission November 26, 2024 HISPANIC/LATINO QUALITY OF LIFE RESOURCE ADVISORY COMMISSION REGULAR CALLED MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, November 26, 2024 The Hispanic/Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission convened in a regular called meeting on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at City Hall, 301 W 2nd St in Austin, Texas. Vice Chair Silva called the Hispanic/Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission Meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. Commissioners in Attendance: Daniela Silva, Vice Chair Dulce Castañeda Commissioners in Attendance Remotely: Ivanna Neri, Chair Amanda Afifi Lyssette Galvan Jesús Perales PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approve the minutes of the Hispanic/Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission regular meeting on August 27, 2024. The minutes from the meeting on August 27, 2024, were approved on Commissioner Castañeda’s motion, Commissioner Perales’ second on a 6-0 vote. Commissioner Jackson was absent. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS Approve the Hispanic Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission 2025 Regular Meeting Schedule. 1. 2. 1 Hispanic/Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission November 26, 2024 The Hispanic Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission 2025 Regular Meeting Schedule was approved on Commissioner Galvan’s motion, Commissioner Castañeda’s second on a 6-0 vote. Commissioner Jackson was absent. Approve the formation of a Recruitment Working Group to help fill vacancies on the Hispanic Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission. DISCUSSION ITEMS Presentation by the Anti-Defamation League Austin on their work locally in combatting antisemitism, hate and extremism. The presentation was made by Courtney Toretto, Director of Policy for the Central Division, Anti Defamation League Austin. Discussion on attendance of the December 2024 meeting of the Hispanic Latino Quality of Life Resource Advisory Commission. Discussed. Quorum could not be established for the regular meeting date of December 17, 2024 date and Chair Neri suggested December 10, 2024 as a possible alternative. Update from the Joint Inclusion Committee representative on the Equity Office and Joint Inclusion Committee’s Budget Input Sessions for Fiscal Year 2026. Commissioner Afifi provided an update.
