Additional Backup Information: This amendment will provide a critical software upgrade required to maintain full support for the Meter Data Management System (MDMS), a foundational platform that collects Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data used by Austin Energy’s billing and outage management systems and directly impacts customers. The MDMS platform validates meter data for accurate billing, enables remote service operations, supports outage detection through Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), and provides essential data to customer facing platforms including customer-facing online portals. The MDMS 4.2 platform currently in use has reached its end of life and requires an upgrade. Full support by the vendor, including security updates and patching, is available solely on the upgraded platform. The upgrade is expected to be completed by October 2027.
