Additional Backup Information: This contract provides for the upgrade, integration and ongoing support of the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The ADMS is a critical utility system that manages the distribution grid and supports customer-facing applications responsible for outage restoration status tracking and communication. Its automated functions enhance distribution system reliability and operational efficiency by managing outages and coordinating field crew assignments. The proposed upgrades will provide additional capabilities to the system, enabling Austin Energy to further improve customer service, strengthen system reliability and optimize operating costs. The upgrade is also necessary to ensure the ADMS continues to function and communicate effectively with other Austin Energy software systems involved in power generation, transmission, customer billing, revenue generation, outage response and related communication functions. Schneider Electric Smart Grid Solutions, LLC is the sole owner of the EcoStruxure ADMS software, as well as the sole domestic provider of maintenance and support for that software. The vendor does not provide their ADMS maintenance support and implementation services through any other purchasing paths. Item 9 The recommended contractor is the current provider for these services. Without this upgrade, Austin Energy will lose support for the ADMS significantly impacting their ability to respond to customer outages throughout the Austin Energy service area.
