Training includes field-based trauma response, field- based CPR/Automated External Defibrillator, confined space entry, confined space and high angle rescue, and associated hazardous environment training. Emergency planning services include confined space entry planning, confined space entry rescue standby services, and high angle rescue services. Item 8This is a new contract, and spending estimates are based on a combination of previous costs to provide field- based trauma response, informal estimates received from potential emergency planning services vendors, and internal evaluation of training needs. An evaluation team with expertise in this area evaluated the offers and scored Lee Vernon/True North Medical & Safety LLC as the best to provide these services based on project concept and strategy, company qualifications and experience, personnel qualifications, price, local business preference and small business preference. Without this contract Austin Energy would be unable to ensure Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards for field-based trauma response trainings.
