Additional Backup Information: This contract is for system-wide arc flash studies as well as hazard assessment and mitigation consulting services for Austin Energy’s electrical systems and all physical buildings. An arc flash is a type of electrical explosion that is caused by a fault in an electrical system. The scope of services includes all engineering work necessary to complete the arc flash study, such as short-circuit analysis, equipment evaluation, and coordination studies. Findings from the study will inform the development of a detailed hazard assessment and will guide implementation of hazard mitigation strategies, including safe work practices and policy updates. Item 10An evaluation team with expertise in this area evaluated the offers and scored E-hazard Management, LLC as the best to provide these services based on qualifications and experience. This is a new contract. Without this contract, Austin Energy will be unable to ensure effective protection against arc flash hazards.
