Vacuum interrupter switches safely stop the flow of electricity during abnormal conditions such as short circuits or overloads by quickly breaking the connection inside a sealed vacuum, which prevents sparks and damage. Vacuum interrupter switches are a main component of load switches, generator circuit-breakers, medium-voltage circuit-breakers, and high- voltage circuit-breakers. They will be used on an as-needed basis to replace units as they reach their end of life and for new project installations. If Council does not approve the contract, restoration of power outages may be impacted. Item 2
