Contractor will also relocate/install utilities and restore the creek with appropriate soils and plants. Palm Park, parkland near Lady Bird Lake, and the trail near Lakeside Apartments are notable exceptions. • • A section of Palm Park will be closed for the duration of construction as a construction staging area. However, the playground, picnic tables, and stone shelter house to remain open. There will be no immediate impacts to the Ann & Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. We will coordinate any potential trail impacts with The Trail Conservancy. What to expect during construction • • Traffic: Impacts to traffic are expected to be minimal. - Construction will be primarily accessed from the I-35 Frontage at Palm Park, Cesar Chavez at Waller Creek, the end of Trinity St., and the MACC parking lot at River Street. - Part of 3rd Street between the I-35 Frontage and Red River will be closed temporarily for utility construction. Work hours: Work will be between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and potentially some weekends. About Jay-Reese Contractors, Inc. On Jan. 18, 2023, the City of Austin authorized an award and execution of a construction contract for The Confluence with Jay-Reese Contractors, Inc. They have worked on many notable Austin projects including the Pfluger Bridge, Boardwalk Trail at Lady Bird Lake, 2nd Street Bridge, and Downtown Station.
