APPROVAL OF MINUTES – July 14, 2021 Motion by Commissioner Ramos to approve the minutes as presented seconded by Commissioner Svirsky, passed on a vote of 10-0. 2. STAFF AND COMMUNITY BRIEFINGS (A member of the public may not address a board at a meeting on an item posted as a briefing) a. Autonomy Institute Fellow Presentation on Public Infrastructure Network Nodes (Jeff DeCoux, Autonomy Institute Fellow) Presentation by Jeff DeCoux can be viewed here. 3. NEW BUSINESS (Discussion and Possible Action) a. City of Austin Strategic Outcomes Review (Commission discussion and possible action) City of Austin Strategic Direction can be viewed here. Commission Annual Report can be viewed here. The week of activities can be viewed here. b. Digital Inclusion Week 2021 Planning (Commission discussion and possible action) 4. COMMISSION UPDATES (Discussion and Possible Action) a. Digital Inclusion, Civic Engagement, and Strategic Technology and Telecom Policy Working Group Chair Pitts noted conversations being had with Huston Tillotson and the University of Texas as it relates to research partnerships. Chair Pitts discussed supporting GTOPs at $500,000 next year, $50 to $75,000 being dedicated for marketing, the administration of the communication campaign around GTOPS to get access to more people and more panelists and more nonprofit organizations. b. Knowledge, Information, and Data Stewardship Working Group Focused on remote participation and dial-ins and leveraging hybrid meetings and challenges working through the pandemic effectively. c. Technology, Infrastructure, and Innovation Working Group Commissioner DasGupta noted working group conversations around shared conduit, shared towers, and the presentation from the Autonomy Institute on PINNs. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS  Briefings from: Partnership. o Member of the Finance and Risk Assessment subcommittee for the Austin Transit o CEO Action for Racial Equity o New Chief Research, Strategic Initiative Officer. o Invite some people from Houston Tillotson regarding the research collaborative. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn made by Svirsky, seconded by Commissioner DasGupta passed on a vote of 10-0.
