CITIZEN COMMUNICATION: GENERAL The first ten speakers who register to speak no later than noon the day before the meeting will be allowed a three-minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. Trevor Hussey spoke on the health effects of 5G. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – June 9, 2021 Motion to approve the June 9, 2021 minutes made by Commissioner Svirsky, seconded by Commissioner DasGupta, passed on a vote of 8-0-1-1 with Commissioner Yeatts abstaining and Commissioner Ramos not present. 2. STAFF AND COMMUNITY BRIEFINGS (A member of the public may not address a board at a meeting on an item posted as a briefing) a. Briefing on Communications and Technology Management Structure and Initiatives (Chris Stewart, Chief Information Officer) Presentation by Chris can be viewed here. b. Briefing on the Solicitation for Media Access and Public Broadcast Services (John Speirs, Program Manager, TARA) The language of this item was adjusted to “Briefing on the Solicitation for Media Production Training and Public access Television Facilities Management”. Presentation by John Speirs can be viewed here. 3. NEW BUSINESS (Discussion and Possible Action) a. Presentation on the Residential Technology Study (Commission Discussion and Possible Action) The framing of this item was adjusted to “Briefing on Reliable and Affordable Broadband Internet for All Project from the Telecommunications & Regulatory Affairs Office” Presentation by John Speirs, Rondella Hawkins, and Khotan Harmon can be viewed here. 3. COMMISSION UPDATES (Discussion and Possible Action) a. Digital Inclusion, Civic Engagement, and Strategic Technology and Telecom Policy Working Group Chair Pitts discussed scheduling of the next meeting for this working group, and the group agreed Tuesdays at 4 pm is a good day/time. July 27th was selected for the next meeting. b. Knowledge, Information, and Data Stewardship Working Group Vice Chair Alexander noted that this working group will pursue topics related to the APD Atlas One app and the processing of police video. c. Technology, Infrastructure, and Innovation Working Group There were no updates for this working group, as the presentation delivered at this meeting on affordable access to broadband was the focus of the working group session. Chair Pitts did note future focus areas related to intelligent infrastructure (infrastructure as a service). FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS This item was held for suggestions to come in offline. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner DasGupta, seconded by Commissioner Floyd, passed on a vote of 9-0-1 with Commissioner Ramos not present.
