Chair Austen called the Commission Meeting to order at 12:11 p.m. Commissioners in Attendance: Rebecca Austen, Chair Flannery Bope, Vice Chair Neva Fernandez Amanda Lewis Julia Cuba Lewis Dyana Limon-Mercado Commissioners Absent: Tanya Athar-Jogee Juliana Gonzales Sarah Tober Vacant: District 2 District 3 Staff in Attendance: April Shaw, Human Resources Department CITIZEN COMMUNICATION Maya Guevara, Office of Police Oversight, addressed the Commission regarding the APD Racial Profiling data. She invited the Commission to attend an event on Race and Policing in Austin on February 22, 2020 at the north Austin YMCA. She also introduced the new Community Police Review Commission. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes from the regular meeting of January 8, 2020 were approved on Vice Chair Bope’s motion, Commissioner Fernandez’ second on a vote of 6-0.
