REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMISSION FOR WOMEN WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 12:00 PM AUSTIN CITY HALL, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS ROOM, #1101 301 WEST 2ND STREET AUSTIN, TEXAS 78701 Some members of the Commission for Women may be participating by videoconference. The meeting may be viewed online at: http://www.austintexas.gov/page/watch-atxn-live Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Commission for Women regular meeting on August 5, 2026. DISCUSSION ITEMS 2. Presentation on Collective Sex Crime Response Model. Presentation by Hanna Senko, Consultant, CSCRM Working Group, Silvana Giono, Supervisor of Victim Services, Austin Police, Catherine Hutchins, Sergeant, Austin Police, Marcy Alonzo, Austin/Travis County Sexual Assault Rapid Response Team Coordinator, Austin Police, and Allison Roper, Business Process Consultant, Austin Police. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 3. 4. 5. Approve a recommendation to Council regarding funding for Communities In Schools. Approve a recommendation to Council regarding funding for SAFE Alliance. Approve a nomination of a primary member of the Commission For Women to the Joint Inclusion Committee. Commission for Women Regular Meeting Minutes Wednesday, August 5, 2026 The Commission for Women convened in a regular meeting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Austin City Hall, 301 W 2nd Street in Austin, Texas. Chair Anderson called the Commission for Women Meeting to order at 12:07 p.m. Commissioners in Attendance: Alexandria Anderson, Chair Commissioners in Attendance Remotely: Jocelyn Tau, Vice Chair Lauren Adams Alicia Ramirez Rabia Shaik Angela Harris Diana Melendez Shaimaa Zayan PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Commission for Women Regular Meeting on June 3, 2026. The minutes from the Commission for Women regular meeting on June 3, 2026 were approved on Commissioner Harris’ motion, Commissioner Ramirez’s second on a 6-0 vote. Commissioners Adams and Melendez were off the dais. Commissioners Billet, Bissereth, and Bullard were absent. STAFF BRIEFINGS 2. Staff briefing regarding the Austin Human Rights Impact report. Presentation by Dr. Lindsey Wilson, Director, Austin Equity and Inclusion, Shafina Khaki, Human Rights Officer, Austin Equity and Inclusion. The motion to approve the nomination of Commissioner Ramirez as an alternate member of the Joint Inclusion Committee passes on Chair Anderson’s motion, Vice Chair Tau’s second on an 8-0 vote. Commissioners Billet, Bissereth and Bullard were absent. The second member (primary) received no nominations and will be brought back as a Discussion and Action item at the next meeting. Approve a recommendation to Council Opposing Proposed $5.1 Million Cut to Social Service Contracts in the City of Austin FY27 Budget and Highlighting Equity Impacts.
