REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMISSION ON AGING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2026, 12:00 P.M. AUSTIN CITY HALL, BOARDS & COMMISSIONS ROOM 301 W 2ND ST AUSTIN, TEXAS 78701 Some members of the Commission on Aging may be participating by videoconference. Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the regular meeting of the Commission of Aging on August 12, 2026. DISCUSSION ITEMS 2. Discussion on the wrapping up of proclamations recommended at the June meeting. 3. Review of revised bluelines for Age Friendly Action Plan (AFAP) Focus Areas One and Two. 4. Discussion regarding AFAP Focus Area Three 5. Discussion regarding potential updates to the previously approved Commission on 2026- 2030 internal framework. 6. Update on Joint Inclusion Committee discussions at the August 26 meeting. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 7. Approve a recommendation to Council for a proclamation on National Adult Day Services Week – September 20-26. 8. Approve a recommendation to Council for a proclamation on Health Literacy Month – October. 9. Approve a recommendation to Council for a proclamation on Veterans Day – November 11. 10. Approve a recommendation to Council for a proclamation on Home Care Aide Day – November 18. 11. Approve a recommendation to Council for a proclamation on National Care at Home Month – November. 12.
