REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2026, AT 6:30 P.M. PERMITTING AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER, ROOM 1405 6310 WILHELMINA DELCO DRIVE AUSTIN, TEXAS Some members of the Building and Standards Commission may be participating by videoconference. The meeting may be viewed online at: http://www.austintexas.gov/page/watch-atxn-live Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION MINUTES REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY, July 22, 2026 The Building and Standards Commission convened in a Regular meeting on July 22, 2026, at the City of Austin Permitting and Development Center (PDC), 1610 Wilhelmina Delco Drive, Room 1405, in Austin, Texas. Chair Michael Francis called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. Commissioners in Attendance: Chair Michael Francis, Vice Chair Jeffrey Musgrove; and Commissioners: Lisa Garza, Mia Ibarra, Myra Martinez, Manesh Nair, Ex Officio Commissioner Fire Marshal Carrie Stewart Commissioners in Attendance Remotely: Harrison Brown. PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL No one appeared before the commission for public communication. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Building and Standards Commission Regular Meeting on June 24, 2026. The minutes from the meeting of June 24, 2026 were approved on Vice Chair Musgrove’s motion, Commissioner Garza’s second, with no objections. Commissioners Gilker and Tomlanovich were absent. PUBLIC HEARINGS 2. Conduct a public hearing and consider case number CL 2026-086086; Property address: 941 E 50th Street. Vice Chair Musgrove moved to close the public hearing, Commissioner Garza’s second, with no objections. Commissioner Garza moved to adopt City staff’s proposed findings of fact, conclusions of law and City staff’s recommended order for demolition within 45 days, Vice Chair Musgrove’s second. The Commission voted 7-0 in favor of the motion as adopted. Commissioners Gilker and Tomlanovich were absent. 3. Conduct a public hearing and consider case number CL 2026-076095; Property address: 7810 Burleson Road. 1 Commissioner Garza moved to close the public hearing, Commissioner Nair’s second, with no objections. Commissioner Garza moved to adopt City staff’s proposed findings of fact, conclusions of law and recommended order for repair of the residential structure within 45 days, with a civil penalty of $250 per week beginning on the 46th day from the date the order is mailed and continuing until compliance is achieved, Vice Chair Musgrove’s second. The Commission voted 7-0 in favor of the motion as amended. Commissioners Gilker and Tomlanovich were absent. 4. Conduct a public hearing and consider case number CL 2026-076051; Property address: 7501 Berkman Drive. 5. 6. Vice Chair Musgrove moved to close the public hearing, Commissioner Garza’s second, with no objections.
