Austin-Travis County Food Plan ATCFPB August 2026 – Staff Update City of Austin Food Plan Updates City Staff Updates ● City staff sent City Council a Food Plan Update Memo on May 5th 2026 ● City staff have completed the annual update of the Food Plan Dashboard - 80% of Strategies are being implemented! ● Funding from the MUFPP Award will be released via a RFA in fall 2026 ● ACAR is hiring! ○ Evaluating candidates City Staff Updates Implementation Collab ● First Collaborative Meeting in June ○ About 100 attendees. ● Next Quarterly meeting being planned for September ● Food Summit planned for spring 2027 ● Working Group meetings ○ Charter Development WG ● St David’s Foundation grant ○ The Collaborative was asked to submit a full proposal ○ Small group meeting to assist in developing proposal ○ Due on July 23rd 2026 City of Austin 2026 Budget Next Steps ● City Manager’s budget published on July 10th ● City Manager will presents his budget to Council on July 16th ● Council votes on the budget on August 12th City of Austin 2026 Bond - Next Steps ● Council asked staff to continue developed the ‘Alternative Scenario’; for a 2026 Bond. ● August 27th, 2026: City Council Meeting – consideration of an ordinance to call for a bond election and set ballot language ● November 3, 2026: Bond election Travis County Food Plan Updates County Appointments to the FPB Travis County Commissioners Court approved two new appointments to the Austin-Travis County Food Policy Board on Tuesday, August 4th.
