Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Asian American Quality of Life Advisory Commission regular meeting on August 18, 2026. STAFF BRIEFINGS 2. 3. Staff briefing regarding Varsity Generation Programming and Austin’s aging Asian American community. Presentation by Kelly Maltsberger, Assistant Director, Austin Parks and Recreation and Jesus Aguirre, Director, Austin Parks and Recreation. Staff briefing regarding facilities updates to the Asian American Resource Center (AARC). Presentation by Darrell Alexander, Director, Austin Facilities Management. 4. Staff briefing regarding the Creative Reset II Initiative and the AARC. Presented by Candice Cooper, Chief Administrative Officer, Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 5. 6. Approve a nomination of stakeholder member to the Asian American Quality of Life Advisory Commission. Approve a nomination to the Joint Inclusion Committee. WORKING GROUP UPDATE 7. Update from Community Engagement Working group regarding community organizations, groups and companies representing or partnering with Asian American communities in Austin.
