ANIMAL ADVISORY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 The Animal Advisory Commission convened in a regular meeting on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Austin City Hall, Boards and Commissions Room 301 W 2nd Street in Austin, Texas. Chair Maron called the Animal Advisory Commission Meeting to order at 6:07 pm. Approve the minutes of the Animal Advisory Commission Regular Meeting on August 10, 2026. The minutes of the August 10, 2026 regular meeting of the Animal Advisory Commission were approved as amended during the September 14, 2026 regular meeting of the Animal Advisory Commission on Vice Chair Norton’s motion, Commissioner Nilson’s second on an 11-0 vote. Commissioner Nemer was absent. The amendments by Chair Maron were to add Virus to the end of Feline Leukemia and to revise all instances of “Texas Health and Safety Chapter 8-23” to “Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 823”. The amendments were approved on the motion of Vice Chair Norton, Parliamentarian Daniel’s second on an 11-0 vote. Commissioner Nemer was absent. STAFF BRIEFINGS 2. Approve the creation of a working group exploring compliance with the Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 823. Withdrawn. Approve the creation of a working group to study the impact of and write recommendations to Council regarding Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) combo testing. The motion to approve the creation of a working group to study the impact of and write recommendations to Council regarding FeLV and FIV combo testing with members Vice Chair Norton, Parliamentarian Daniel, and Commissioner Nemer was approved on Vice Chair Norton’s motion, Commissioner Dulzaides’ second on an 11-0 vote. Commissioner Nemer was absent. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS - Request a presentation from the City of Austin on the Travis County Interlocal Agreement - Discussion on the Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 822.003 The meeting of the Animal Advisory Commission was adjourned by Chair Maron at 8:10pm. 2
