ANIMAL ADVISORY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES JULY 13, 2026 The Animal Advisory Commission convened in a regular meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Austin City Hall, Boards and Commissions Room 301 W 2nd Street in Austin, Texas. Chair Maron called the Animal Advisory Commission Meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Play Group Safety Pat Valls Trelles – Spay and Neuter 1 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Animal Advisory Commission Regular Meeting on June 8, 2026. The minutes of the June 8th regular meeting of the Animal Advisory Commission as were approved during the July 13th meeting on Commissioner Dulzaides’ motion, Commissioner Loignon’s second on a 10-0 vote. Discuss the Annual Internal Review Report for Animal Advisory Commission. Discussed. Change in Chair for No Kill Committee. Chair Maron named Commissioner Nemer as the Chair of the No Kill Committee. Current committee membership is Chair Nemer, Commissioners Dulzaides, Ferguson, Holt, Loignon and Van Landingham. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 9. Creation of a working group exploring compliance with the Texas Health and Safety Chapter 8- 23. This item was postponed to the next meeting. 2 10. Creation of a working group to study the emergency intake procedures at Austin Animal Services. This item was postponed until next meeting. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS - Presentation about recompeting the emergency funds - Education on dangerous and vicious dogs - Budget review The meeting of the Animal Advisory Commission was adjourned on Commissioner Dulzaides’ motion, Commissioner Holt’s second at 8:47 pm without objection. 3
