There are currently 1300 members (approved foster care providers) in the foster program’s GivePulse group. Among the 205 domestic animals, 89 animals were transferred for medical reasons to rescue partners. Of these, 75 animals went to Austin Pets Alive! including 9 puppies with suspected or confirmed parvo. (12) Animals lost, stolen, or missing There were no reported lost, stolen, or missing animals in December at AAS. (13) Live release rate goal Austin City Council Resolution No. 20190328-034 states that Austin Animal Services has a mandated live-release rate of 90% and a goal of 95% or greater. (14) Cats released under SNR/TNR There were 37 cats transferred from AAS to Austin Humane Society with the Community Cats Shelter Neuter Return (SNR) program. There were 123 cats transferred from AAS’s “Cattyshack” to Austin Humane Society with the Community Cats Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program. (15) Intact animals adopted or RTO Four animals were adopted intact. All adopters have agreed to a spay/neuter agreement. Additional Reporting Animal Protection O(cid:431)icers submitted 15 specimens for rabies testing out of 230 exposure reports. We had 1 positive bat and 1 decomposed bat. O(cid:431)icers handed out 7 fencing assistance applications and implanted 6 microchip(s). O(cid:431)icers impounded 24 injured animals and 23 regular or sick animals. Wildlife Protection There were 42 total coyote related activities (Behavior types include Sighting, Encounter, Incident, and Observation. “Observation” is defined as hearing coyotes howling and finding scat or footprints.) o 29 sightings, 9 wild sick, 2 encounter, 1 incidents, and 1 wild injured Volunteer Program In December, 373 volunteers contributed 4,974.57 hours 3 orientations, introducing 62 potential volunteers 10 Community Service Restitution individuals to perform 81 hours 58 volunteers dedicated 127.33 hours to volunteer development and onboarding training 26 individuals donated 52 hours toward group service, through dog-walking and cat care Marketing Austin Animal Services Facebook had 1.1 million page views, reached 348,000 unique individuals, and got 21,000 content interactions. Austin Animal Services Instagram had 616,000 page views, reached 83,000 unique individuals, and got 23,000 content interactions during December.
