Approve the minutes of the Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities regular called meeting on June 13, 2025. The minutes from the meeting of June 13, 2025 were approved on Chair Kelly’s motion, Commissioner Chang’s second on an 6-0 vote. Withdrawn. WORKING GROUP UPDATES 8. Update from the October 2025 Disability Event Working Group on their most recent meetings and accomplishments. Update provided by Commissioner Arellano. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 9. 10. Formation of a working group regarding the expansion of therapeutic recreation program access and the creation of budget recommendations for therapeutic recreation programs within the Austin Parks and Recreation Department. This item was postponed on Chair Kelly’s motion, Commissioner Murphy’s second on a 6-0 vote. Vice Chair Meyer and Commissioners Diaz, Fetonte, Franks, and Vassallo were absent. Approval of the Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities 2024-2025 Annual Internal Review Report. Approve a Recommendation to Council regarding support for the AWEbility Festival, a proposed citywide disability inclusion event planned for October 2025 and 2026 in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Approve a Recommendation to Council regarding the implementation of CONVO Access – an on-demand ASL interpreting service – at various public facilities to improve communication equity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Presentation about the training practices regarding people with disabilities from the Engagement Specialist for the Office of Police Oversight Updates from the Transit Working Group. Potential Recommendation to Council to create a partnership with the Texas Governor’s Committee for People with Disabilities. Creation of a Budget Working Group Presentation from Austin Police Department for follow up about database Invite Civil Rights Officer, Enrique Serrano to discuss what the Office of Equity and Inclusion is planning for 2025. Chair Kelly adjourned the meeting at 6:48 p.m. without objection. 3
