MAYOR’S COMMITTEE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES Friday, May 13, 2022, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Austin City Hall, Board & Commission Room, Room 1101 301 W 2nd Street, Austin, Texas 78701 Some members of the Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities may be participating by videoconference. Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely by telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once, either in-person or remotely, and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2. NEW BUSINESS: A. Consider approval of the minutes from the Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities April 08, 2022, Meeting. A. Presentation from Liz Wisecraver, Director of the National Federation of The Blind of Texas regarding the Newsline program. B. Presentation from Martin Kareithi, Director of Systemwide Accessibility for Capital Metro regarding a community review that could result in changes to the Customer Code of Conduct. C. Discussion and possible action regarding to asking the City of Austin for more American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter resources for the Deaf community during emergency/first response situations.
