RESOLUTION TO OFFER FURTHER OPINIONS AT THE SAME TIME AS RECOMMENDATIONS TO COUNCIL WHEREAS, Austin Energy and Austin Water ask the Resource Management Commission to recommend City Council approval of expenditures or policy that affect clean energy and water conservation; and WHEREAS, the Commission is constrained by the wording of these Recommendations for Council Action (RCAs) to only a "Yea or Nay" vote for approval; and WHEREAS, the issues surrounding these RCAs sometimes have issues that need to be brought to City Council's attention, but these nuances cannot be considered at the same time as the RCAs because such recommendations are not posted for discussion and vote at the same meeting as the RCAs; THEN BE IT RESOLVED that, beginning with the meeting of November 2026, RCAs posted for consideration on the Commission agenda also have an automatic item posted allowing the Commission the option to offer further opinions on the RCAs to Council for consideration.
