CALL TO ORDER B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1) Approve Minutes from August 2, 2016 meeting. C. CITIZEN COMMUNICATION 1) The first 10 speakers signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will each be allowed a three‐minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. D. NEW BUSINESS: BRIEFING, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION E. OLD BUSINESS: BRIEFING, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION 1) Special event policies related to event day or use limits, process, scheduling, and coordination. 2) Task Force subcommittee organization, structure and appointments. 3) Special event policies related to process, scheduling, coordination, enforcement, and impacts. 4) Impacts and impact reduction measures, policies, or practices of special events regarding impact mitigation on surrounding neighborhoods, areas and businesses. 5) Discussion of Green Event policies. 6) Status of task force member requests from previous meetings and upcoming meeting schedule. F. NEW BUSINESS: FUTURE ITEMS FROM TASK FORCE MEMBERS OR CITY STAFF Future agenda items will NOT be discussed at the current meeting, but will be offered for possible briefing, discussion, and action at a FUTURE meeting. G. ADJOURNMENT The task force may take up items in any order, and may take action on any item except citizen’s communication. The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the American with Disabilities Act. Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications will be provided upon request. Meeting locations are planned with wheelchair access. If requiring Sign Language Interpreters or alternative formats, please give notice at least 2 days (48 hours) before the meeting date. CALL TO ORDER‐Meeting called to order @4:40 pm by James Russell B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1) Motion to Approve Minutes from August 2, 2016 meeting by Michael Joyce, seconded by Ingrid Weigand. 7 members voted AYE 0 voted No 2 abstained, motion passed. C. CITIZEN COMMUNICATION‐ No Citizen Communication D. OLD BUSINESS: BRIEFING, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION 1) Special event policies related to event day or use limits, process, scheduling, and coordination. No Formal Action Taken 2) Task Force subcommittee organization, structure and appointments. No new subcommittees appointed. 3) Special event policies related to process, scheduling, coordination, enforcement, and impacts. Lara Schuman City of Austin Parks Dept. Urban Forestry Program Manager presented on forestry issues in the parks with a focus on special events. Task force requested Lara to return at a future meeting to give an update.  The Parkland Events Task Force recommends the City Council fund an economic impact study of all special events conducted on parkland and City of Austin property. Motion by James Russell Seconded by Jeff Smith Motion passed 9‐0‐0. 4) Impacts and impact reduction measures, policies, or practices of special events regarding impact mitigation on surrounding neighborhoods, areas and businesses.
