AUSTIN MUSIC COMMISSION SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MINUTES The Austin Music Commission convened in a special called meeting on November 2, 2020 via videoconference. November 2, 2020 BOARD MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: Chair – Rick Carney, Vice-chair – Jonathan “Chaka” Mahone, Parliamentarian - Oren Rosenthal, Al Duarte, Gavin Garcia, Graham Reynolds Staff in Attendance: Kim McCarson, Stephanie Bergara CALL TO ORDER 6:36pm Speakers: None 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of minutes from the October 19, 2020 Music Commission meeting. Commissioner Reynolds motions, Commissioner Duarte seconds. Motion carries 6-0. 2. NEW BUSINESS a. Discussion and Possible Action following update by Brie Franco, Intergovernmental Relations Officer, on what issues to expect regarding the 87th Legislative Session beginning on January 12, 2021, and adoption of the City’s State Legislative Agenda. No action taken. b. Discussion and Possible Action following update by David Colligan, Acting Chief Operating Officer, Austin Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) on the AEDC. Commissioner Reynolds motions and Commissioner Rosenthal seconds to task the Creative Space Bond Working Group with reviewing the nominations to the AEDC. Motion carries 6-0. c. Discussion and Possible Action on election of Board Chair. Chair Carney announces he is stepping down. Chair Carney proposes to postpone election as only 6 commissioners are present. Commissioner Garcia motions for Vice-chair to chair next meeting. Commissioner Reynolds seconds. Motion carries 6-0. 3. OLD BUSINESS Group. No action taken. No action taken. a. Discussion and Possible Action following an update by the Systemic Racism Working b.
