ESB-MACC ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 EMMA S. BARRIENTOS MEXICAN AMERICAN CULTURAL CENTER REGULAR MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) convened in a Regular meeting on September 2, 2026, at 600 River Street in Austin, Texas. (Some members of the ESB- MACC Advisory Board participated via videoconference.) Vice Chair Zamarripa-Saenz called the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center Meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. Board Members in Attendance: Lillian “Lily” Zamarripa-Saenz, Hilario “Larry” Amaro, John Estrada, Lynda Quintana, Raul “Roy” Reyna, Selma Sanchez. Board Members in Attendance Remotely: Cynthia “Cy” Herrera. Board Members Absent: Angelica Navarro, Noemi Castro, Alexander “Al” Duarte. PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL David Villarreal – Request to serve on ESB-MACC Planning Committee(s) APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center regular meeting of July 8, 2026. The minutes from the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center regular meeting of July 8, 2026, were approved on Vice Chair Zamarripa-Saenz’s motion. Board Member Quintana seconded. Motion passed on a 7-0 vote. Chair Navarro and Board Members Castro and Duarte absent. STAFF BRIEFINGS 2. Staff briefing on July, August, and September programs, marketing and outreach efforts, signature event planning, and staffing updates. Briefing given by Olivia Tamzarian, ESB-MACC Culture and Arts Marketing & Outreach Representative, Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment. DISCUSSION ITEMS 3. Presentation on the Process for Renaming City of Austin Facility Spaces. Presentation given by Michelle Rojas, ESB-MACC Culture and Arts Education Manager, Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment. 4.
