Latino/a/e Artist Access Program (LAAP) MACC Staff held a LAAP information session on Monday, September 22, from 6 to 8 pm at the Twin Oaks Library where 9 community members were in attendance. In order to prepare for the upcoming LAAP relaunch, a workgroup comprised of MACC staff at all levels of the organization from different work teams (Production, Education, Administration, Marketing, etc) was created in August of 2024 and has since met bi-weekly. It includes both Temp and Full Time Staff. The task was to work collaboratively in the effort to: 1. Increase access to all working artists 2. Streamline the application process 3. Ensure language access 4. Identify greater opportunities for support during the onboarding process 5. Build in more opportunities for feedback by LAAP participants as cohorts We believe the integration of all these perspectives have been invaluable thus far. During this process, a) the LAAP contract last used in the 2019 cohort, b) the community engagement completed in 2019, and c) feedback provided by members of the first LAAP cohort, were directly used as references to guide the relaunch. The LAAP application period is being paused temporarily to allow for more community feedback during the Creative Reset Phase II. Stay tuned to the Creative Reset Phase II website for more information.
