REGULAR MEETING of the LGBTQ QUALITY OF LIFE ADVISORY COMMISSION Monday, June 10, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once, either in-person or remotely, and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. APPROVAL OF MINUTES DISCUSSION ITEMS 1. Motion by Commissioner Wollerson, Seconded by Commissioner Garza, to approve the minutes of the Commission’s Regular Meeting on May 15, 2024, passed unanimously by roll call vote. 2. Discussion regarding upcoming community events related to the Commission's mission and goals. Motion by Neal, Seconded by Kruger, to add Commissioner Bandit to the Community and Communication working group, passed without objection. Community and Communication working group to return to our next meeting with a chair selection. 3. Discussion of equity-based preservation plan. 4. Approve a recommendation to the Council to conduct a feasibility study for an LGBTQIA+ Cultural DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS Center. Tabled until next month. Page 2 of 4 5. Approve a recommendation to the Council for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity data collection. Tabled until next month. 6. Approve a Vice Chair for the LGBTQ QoL Commission. Motion by Commissioner Neal, seconded by Commissioner Garza, for Commissioner Benson to be our Vice-chair motion passed unanimously with Commissioner Bandit & Beson abstaining, and Commissioner Davis off the dais. 7. Approve a commissioner interview with KUT. Motion by Commissioner Neal, Seconded by Commissioner Garza to have Commissioner Kruger speak on behalf of the commission to KUT. Motion Passed unanimously by roll call vote with Commissioner Kruger abstaining. 8. Approve a budget recommendation working group. Tabled until next month 9. Approve a Cultural Center working group. Motion Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Garza, to extend the working group until next month, passed with no objections. 10. Approve a Community Outreach Working Group. 12.
