Description of Recommendation to Council The Joint Sustainability Committee recommends that the Austin City Council approve the proposed Great Streets Initiative that minimizes barriers to plant and maintain street trees located in city right-of-way for both public and private projects. Rationale: Prioritizing street trees in city right-of-way aligns with the goals of the Austin Climate Equity plan.
