TRANSIT ROUTES IKE displays a list of real-timetransit routes near the kiosk to your destination. ROUTE DETAILS Select preferred route to discover upcoming departuretimes and nearby stops. MAP VIEW Toggle the view from route listings to seenearby route options on a map. The kiosks are 100% ADA compliant and have been reviewed by an accessibility specialist. The kiosks feature scrollable on-screen content and an accessibility feature that adjusts the height of the content for users in wheelchairs. Low-vision users are able to resize and/or change the text to high- contrast mode for additional focus on text and graphic elements. Brightness of each individual kiosk can be programmed based on a fixed schedule. Minimum brightness is adjustable, typically set at 350 nits. IKE Kiosks only reach peak brightness during periods of direct, intense sunlight. Kiosks will be located on the commercial streets in the City (retailers, restaurants, hotels and street-facing storefronts). 10 Financials & Civic Benefits Financial Benefits • No start up costs to the City of Austin • Revenue cost-sharing model from advertising • Initial deployment of 50 digital kiosks • Vendor does all maintenance Civic Benefits • Content governance: PSAs, Community Campaigns, Small-business Promotions • Any unsold advertising time will be provided to the City at no cost. 11 Advertising Content Regulations Illegal, false, or misleading content Violent, offensive, or obscene material Tobacco, alcohol, drugs, firearms, or adult entertainment Lottery, gambling, or unsafe contests Political, issue-based, or religious ads Pawn shops, check cashing, or tattoo parlors Ads conflicting with City policies or interests 12 Code Amendment Changes Austin City Council approval is required to amend Chapter 25-10 (Sign Regulations). These amendments are necessary to allow kiosks to include off-premise advertising. Without these changes, the digital kiosks initiative cannot move forward.
