COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (CDC) MEETING April 8, 2025 – 6:30 PM Austin City Hall, Boards and Commissions – Room 1101 301 West 2nd Street, Austin, TX 78701 Some members of the Community Development Commission may be participating by video conference. The meeting may be viewed online at: http://www.austintexas.gov/page/watch-atxn-live. Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely by telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once, either in-person or remotely, and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Purpose: The purpose of the board is to advise the Council in the development and implementation of programs designed to serve the poor and the community at large with an emphasis on federally funded programs. AGENDA CALL TO ORDER PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL The first 10 speakers signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will each be allowed a three- minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. 1. Approve the March 11, 2025, Community Development Commission meeting minutes. APPROVAL OF MINUTES DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS DISCUSSION ITEMS 2. Conduct annual officer elections for the Chair and Vice Chair for the CDC. Current officer terms will expire at the end of April with new terms beginning May 1, 2025. City Code requires that all boards/commissions elect a Chair and Vice Chair. 3. Discuss the process of appointing of members and the responsibilities of the Community Development Commission to the Housing Committee. (Edward Blake Program Manager, CDC Liaison, Housing Department). 4. Presentation regarding the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) activities and outcomes (Angel Zambrano, Manager, Neighborhood Services Unit, Austin Public Health). 5. Presentation on updates on re-organization from Housing Investment Review Committee (HIRC) (James May Housing and Community Development Officer, Housing Department). 6. Discussion and update on FY 26 Action Plan Process (Rocio Pena-Martinez, Grants Program Manager and Chase Clements, Financial Manager, Housing Department). 7. Conduct a public hearing to receive public comment on how formula grants impact our communities for the City's Fiscal Year 25-26 Action Plan that will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of the City's application for federal funding.
