COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (CDC) MEETING August 13, 2024 – 6:30pm Austin City Hall, Board and Commission – Room 1101 301 West 2nd Street, Austin, TX 78701 Some members of the Community Development Commission may be participating by video conference. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once, either in-person or remotely, and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Purpose: The purpose of the board is to advise the Council in the development and implementation of programs designed to serve the poor and the community at large with an emphasis on federally funded programs. AGENDA CALL TO ORDER PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL The first 10 speakers signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will each be allowed a three- minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. 1. Approve the June 11, 2024, Community Development Commission meeting minutes. APPROVAL OF MINUTES BRIEFINGS DISCUSSION ITEMS 2. Briefing on the Heat Resilience Playbook (Marc Coudert, Program Manager, Environmental Conservation, Office of Resilience). 3. Presentation and discussion regarding Project Connect Anti-Displacement Land Acquisition and Preservation investments (Nicole Joslin, Real Estate Division Manager, and Alexe Radtke Housing Development Manager, Housing Department). 4. Presentation and discussion regarding outcomes for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) (Angel Zambrano, Neighborhood Services Unit, Austin Public Health). PUBLIC HEARING 5. Conduct a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed 2025 CSBG Budget and Community Action Plan, as required by 1) US Department of Health and Human Services, and 2) the Texas Administrative Code, Title 10, Part 1, Chapter 6, Subchapter B, §6.206 (Angel Zambrano, Manager, Neighborhood Services Unit, Austin Public Health). The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the American with Disabilities Act. Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications will be provided upon request.
