COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (CDC) MEETING April 9, 2024 – 6:30pm Austin City Hall, Board and Commission Room 1101 301 West 2nd Street, Austin, TX 78701 Some members of the Community Development Commission may be participating by video conference. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once, either in-person or remotely, and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Purpose: The purpose of the board is to advise the Council in the development and implementation of programs designed to serve the poor and the community at large with an emphasis on federally funded programs. AGENDA CALL TO ORDER PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL The first 10 speakers signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will each be allowed a three- minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. 1. Approve the March 12, 2024, Community Development Commission meeting minutes. APPROVAL OF MINUTES DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 2. Conduct CDC annual officer elections. Current officer terms will expire at the end of April with new terms beginning May 1, 2024. City Code requires that all boards/commissions elect a Chair and Vice Chair. 3. Discuss and vote on shortening speaking time duration and utilizing a round-robin format for discussions, ensuring all CDC members have a chance to speak on each item (Chair Thompson) 4. Discuss and approve a recommendation from the Budget Working Group regarding the City of Austin 2024 – 2025 budget.
