REGULAR MEETING OF THE COLLEGE STUDENT COMMISSION FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026, AT 3:00 P.M. CITY HALL, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS ROOM 301 W 2ND ST AUSTIN, TEXAS Some members of the College Student Commission may be participating by videoconference. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the College Student Commission Regular meeting on September 11, 2026. DISCUSSION ITEMS 2. Discussion of potential presenters pertaining to College Student Commission areas of interest. DISCUSSION & ACTION ITEMS 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Dissolution of Housing working group. Dissolution of Transportation working group. Creation of a Livability working group to develop and present recommendations to the College Student Commission identifying City actions that may reduce barriers to college student affordability and access to basic needs in Austin, including, but not limited to, housing, food, transportation, beneficial employment, and other major cost-of-living concerns. Creation of a Public Safety working group to develop and present recommendations to the College Student Commission identifying City actions that may improve the safety of Austin- area college students in and around campus communities, including concerns related to public transportation, pedestrian and micro mobility safety, lighting, emergency response, and other public-safety issues affecting students. Election of Vice Chair. Approve the 2027 College Student Commission Meeting Schedule. WORKING GROUP UPDATE 9. 10. 11. Update from TRANSPORTATION working group on their priorities for the school year.
