Public comment will be allowed in-person or remotely via telephone. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. Registration no later than noon the day before the meeting is required for remote participation by telephone. If necessary, the Commission will go into closed session, as permitted by law regarding any item on this agenda AGENDA CALL TO ORDER PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: GENERAL The first 10 speakers signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will each be allowed a three- minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes from the Firefighters’, Police Officers’, and Emergency Medical Services Personnel’s Civil Service Commission Special Called Meeting of September 19, 2022. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 2. Consider and act upon Chief of Police Joseph Chacon’s request to certify a Cadet Eligibility List in accordance with Article 14, Section 3(c) of the Agreement between the Austin Police Officers’ Association and the City of Austin. 3. Discussion and possible action regarding the Firefighters’, Police Officers’, and Emergency Medical Services Personnel’s Civil Service Commission future meeting schedule. 4. Report from the Civil Service Office regarding exam processes, disciplinary hearings and STAFF BRIEFINGS fitness-for-duty actions.
