REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2026, AT 6:30 P.M. PERMITTING AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER, ROOM 1405 6310 WILHELMINA DELCO DRIVE AUSTIN, TEXAS Some members of the Building and Standards Commission may be participating by videoconference. Speakers may only register to speak on an item once either in-person or remotely and will be allowed up to three minutes to provide their comments. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approve the minutes of the Building and Standards Commission Regular meeting on August 26, 2026. Staff recommendation: Replace Order TRV 2023115120 issued on September 27, 2023, by issuing a new order to demolish the residential structure. Case Number: CL 2025-148845 Property address: 701 W North Loop Boulevard, aka 701 E North Loop Boulevard, aka Shalimar Apartments / Owner: Sunny Quest LLC Staff presenter: Jerome Howard Previous commission action: On May 27, 2026, the Commission voted to order repair of the commercial multi-family structure within 90 days, with a penalty of $1,000 per week beginning on the 91st day if compliance is not timely achieved. Staff recommendation: Amend the meeting minutes from the May 27, 2026 meeting that were formally adopted by the Commission at the June 24, 2026 meeting to correct the penalty voted upon and assessed by the Commission at the time of the original hearing conducted on May 27, 2026. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS 8. Consider and make a recommendation regarding an ordinance to amend Article 9 (Property Maintenance Code) of City Code Chapter 25-12 (Technical Codes), by adding a local amendment to the 2024 International Property Maintenance Code to establish an emergency demolition service.
