Selection Process Recommendations Budget: $139,000 Corridor| Burnet Road R E C O M M E N D E D A L T E R N A T E Previous TEMPO Artist Melissa Borrell Jury & Advisor Comments: Her artwork is colorful, creative, and eye-catching, with the expansive possibilities of added lighting. She has good ideas about engaging the community as she begins the research phase of the project. She has experience working with similar-sized budgets. She emphasized extensive research and rigorous budgeting and management as important elements of the project, in addition to creating the public art. Melissa's use of bold, kinetic design with bright colors would be a welcome addition to Burnet Rd. Also, the possibility for lighted works providing a day-into-night transition would be a nice match to existing creative lighted signage on Burnet Rd. Borrell makes colorful work that catches the eye and imagination. The artist has worked on several public and private commissions with budgets commiserate to this call.
