ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PANEL Regular Meeting Minutes The Art in Public Places Panel convened a regular meeting on Monday, July 12, 2021; 6:00 PM via Zoom. Chair Rubin called the Meeting to order at 6:01 PM. Panel Members in Attendance: Tammie Rubin – Chair, Brett Barnes – Arts Commission Liaison, Sarah Carr, Stephanie Lemmo, J Muzacz, Joel Nolan. Vice Chair Jacob Villanueva was absent. Staff in Attendance: Susan Lambe, Marjorie Flanagan, Curt Gettman, Alex Irrera, Maria Teresa Bonet – Art in Public Places; Paulinda Lanham – Public Works. Guests in Attendance: Bradley Touchstone – Architect, AECOM. Citizen Communication: General None. 1.   APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes from the Regular meeting on Monday, July 12th, 2021, were approved on Panel Member Lemmo motion, Panel Member Carr second on a (6-0-0) vote. CHAIR’S REPORT Panel Member Rubin shared that at this time the Art in Public Places Panel will return to meeting in-person beginning in September 2021.  ARTS COMMISSION LIAISON REPORT Arts Commissioner Barnes shared about the Austin Arts and Culture Non-Profit Relief Grant and asked that others disseminate the information to non-profit organizations in need of assistance at the next opportunity.   NEW BUSINESS a. Discussion and Action Items 2.   3.   4.   1. Project Introduction for the Redbud Trail Bridge Project Public Works staff Paulinda Lanham and AECOM architect Bradley Touchstone gave a presentation on the Redbud Trail Bridge Project. Discussion Ensued. No action was taken. 2. Approve the Selection Process Recommendation for the Del Valle Austin Fire Department and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (AFD/EMS) Station AIPP Project AIPP staff Curt Gettman and Alex Irrera presented the Selection Process Recommendation for the Del Valle AFD and Travis County EMS Station Project. Discussion ensued. Panel Member Carr made a motion to approve. Panel Member Lenmo seconded. Motion approved 6-0-0. 3. Approve the Selection Process Recommendation for the Travis County AFD/EMS Station AIPP Project AIPP staff Curt Gettman and Alex Irrera presented the Selection Process Recommendation for the Travis County AFD/EMS Station Project. Discussion ensued. Panel Member Lenmo made a motion to approve. Panel Member Nolan seconded. Motion approved 6-0-0. 4. Approve the Selection Process Recommendation for the AFD22/EMS12 (East Riverside) Station AIPP Project AIPP staff Curt Gettman and Alex Irrera presented the Selection Process Recommendation for the AFD22/EMS12 (East Riverside) Station Project. Discussion ensued. Panel Member Muzacz made a motion to approve. Panel Member Nolan seconded. Motion approved 6-0-0. 5. Approve the Selection Process Recommendation for the AFD1/EMS6 (Downtown) Station AIPP Project AIPP staff Curt Gettman and Alex Irrera presented the Selection Process Recommendation for the AFD1/EMS6 (Downtown) Station Project. Discussion ensued. Panel Member Carr made a motion to approve. Arts Commission Liaison Barnes seconded. Motion approved 6-0-0. 6. Approve the Selection Process Recommendation for the Gus Garcia Recreation Center AIPP Project AIPP staff Maria Teresa Bonet presented the Selection Process Recommendation for the Gus Garcia Recreation Center Project. Discussion ensued. Panel Member Nolan made a motion to approve. Panel Member Carr seconded. Motion approved 6-0-0. OLD BUSINESS None. 5.   6.   7.   STAFF BRIEFINGS 1. Staff updated Panel regarding upcoming artwork dedications and celebrations. 2. Staff updated the Panel on the Texas Open Meetings Act and possible transition to in-person panel meeting. Future updates as information is available.  GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS / FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Chair Rubin requested a working group be formed to address professional development for artists. 8.   ADJOURNMENT Chair Rubin adjourned the meeting at 7:29 PM with no objection.
