AFRICAN AMERICAN RESOURCE ADVISORY COMMISSION Regular Meeting – April 5, 2022, 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. City of Austin Permitting and Development Center 6310 Wilhelmina Delco Dr. Austin, Texas 78752 AGENDA Some members of the Commission may be participating by videoconference. Public comment will be allowed in person or via telephone. Remote speakers must register in advance (April 4th by Noon). All public comment will occur at the beginning of the meeting. To speak remotely, residents must: Call or email the board liaison at Linda Hayes at Economic Development Department, at (512-974-6282), no later than noon April 4th. The information required is the speaker’s name, item number(s) they wish to speak on, whether they are for/against/neutral, email address and telephone number (must be the same number that will be used to call into the meeting). APPROVAL OF MINUTES – March 1st meeting and with the revision that Commissioner Wright was in attendance of the February meeting 2. SPECIAL PRESENTATION, DISCUCSSION AND POSSIBILE ACTION a. Housing and Planning Department – Research Analyst Kati Horstman Department of City of Austin FY 22-23 Action Plan- the spending plan the city submits to the Housing and Urban Development Dept to gain access to federal dollars intended for housing and homelessness services b. Vivent Health-AIDS Services of Austin-The two merged in April 2020, as part of the national HIV health care system including Colorado, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Among other topics they would like to discuss are: • Updating on the merger with AIDS Services of Austin. • Providing an overview of the Medical Home Model; and • Future service plans, particularly for the underserved. Vivent will also be opening a consolidated AIDS services facility (in Highland) in early 2022. 3. POSSIBLE ACTION - Voting on Commission Chair and Vice …
